After 15 years in education, including a decade in leadership, I realised the balance was off. I enjoyed teaching and I loved supporting and developing others, especially when I could coach colleagues and help them grow in their roles. Those moments were the most rewarding, but they were too few. I wanted more control over my time, more space to think, and work that left me energised rather than burnt out.
In my mid-30s, I was diagnosed with ADHD. By then, burnout had become all too familiar and the career I was in was not helping me to thrive. I knew something had to change. Taking the leap to leave education was both the hardest and the best decision I have ever made. It opened the door to the kind of work I had been craving, where I could focus fully on coaching and helping people move forward in ways that truly matter to them.
